Mandible Position Sensors
There are two manddible position sensors, one to let the microprocessor know when the mandibles are open, and one to signal when they are closed. The operating system uses these sensors to control the power sent to the mandible motor. The white wire at the back of the robot is connected to ground. When the mandibles are closed, this wire shorts with the wire above the mandible gearbox. When the mandibles are open, the white wire shorts out the wire beneath the gearbox, which is the position shown the picture.
