Splines Surfaces
- Instead, work piecewise.
- Each patch of the surface is a low-degree polynomial affected by only the nearby points, (a spline).
- Smoothly join the patches together.
- Choose the functions (e.g., x=f(u,v)) to
be low-order polynomials.
- Solve for the coefficients which give your
desired degree of continuity and differentiability at
the join segments between the patches.
