notes:

You've got a nice idea for an object, but there are a few little problems with it. First of all, the rotation is wrong. The object should have been modeled with +Z as the up vector. You have +Y as the up vector.
Second, I think you could have put a lot more detail into this object. One of the grading criteria, as you see above, is complexity - how much time did you spend on the object, how detailed is it? I think there are a lot of extra little details you could have put in, but didn't. It looks after all as if you have one base castle object, onto which you add a few turrets etc. None of the parameters really change the object all that much.
And third, there are a few parts of your model which I think are a little rough. For example, the corners of the castle don't line up all that well (I think you used a cone to smooth out each corner of the case (when seen without turrets) but the cones are not really placed that precisely.

really does not make much sense to have a scale parameter -- either
you normalize the effect of the scale away, or you violate the
dimension constraints.

Other than that, good job!

Yikes, I think your object needs a lot of work:

* It produces invalid Inventor code for the case where the "-cone"
parameter is set to 2.0 It violates the unit-cube size constraint in
many case. The idea is that your program should output an object of
the correct dimensions no matter what the arguments.

* Your fins are nice, but with inventor culling back-facing polygon by
default, half of them don't appear at any time. What you should have
done is place 2 polygons in each position, with normals facing in
opposite directions.

* It's not very detailed at all. We have a "complexity" criterion for
grading this problem set because we wanted people to model objects in
some detail. In your case, I think you just slapped a cone on top of a
cyclinder. You probably could have gone a little farther than that.

Also, your program should output a default object when invoked with no

notes:

Cool object! And I like the parameters that you added -- lot's of freedom there.

The only little mistake: you did not obey the scale and rotation constraints. i.e. your object does not fit inside a unit cube at the origin, and you have not modeled the +Z vector as up.

Other than that, great job!

great!

The only little nit I can pick is that you didn't obey the scaling
convention. Well I think you'll find that mistake to be a costly one:
it brings you ALL THE WAY down to 11.5/10

You're being docked two points for not following the naming convention
that we specified, and for either using a 3d modeler or using a stock
model from some other place. The point of the assignment was to do
your own modeling.

Also, you needed a discrete variable, and candy seemed to be it,
although I could not see any visible difference when the value of
candy was varied (I never saw any candies, actually).

two little problems: first, your object does not quite fit in the unit

certain amount (e.g. 200)

Good job! Nice mog models, with plenty of parameters. You went outside
the unit cube, but your warned of that in your help message.

Nice object! Very well done.

One little bug: when you make solid glasses, back-facing polygons are
culled, meaning that the far side of the glass is invisible.

notes:

I liked your object a lot. However there were a few problems with it. First, it produces invalid inventor code for the case where "-alien" is set without "-ramp". Also, your program should return a default object when run without parameters. Your code produces something, but it is invalid inventor code. You're also missing a continuous paramter (you had color, but that counts as a material parameter -- continuous parameters should change the geometry somehow).

The program doesn't seem to work. Either it produces code which displays nothing (if invoked without parameters) or it produces invalid code.

notes:

Very nice object! Very precise, and I like the scads of parameters you
included.

You had one technical problem, which is that we are viewing your
object off of the Athena file system, and so do not have access to the
files which you link to in your output. Your "-primitive" parameter
should avoid any problems (because ivview just doesn't show anything
if it comes across an unsatisfied link) but even when "-primitive
Cube" was specified, you still had some reference to the yellow pig
model somewhere in your code.

notes:

A simple object - good, but you are lacking one type of parameter,
which is the discrete parameter (a parameter which takes on the values
of the integers ...)

Also your parameters are not really optimal. After all, the -longsword
and -lightsaber parameters are in conflict. Maybe a single -bladeshape
parameter might have been better?
