notes: Nice that you added capabilities for testing in the z direction.
Sorry that you didn't get the orthographic viewing transformation to
work.  Your code looks fine; is it possible that when you applied
the transformation, your points were just so close that they needed
to be scaled down in order to fit within the viewing port?  Without
knowing what output you got, I can't say what the problem was, but
many people found that they had to scale the model when viewing with
the orthographic transformation.
