Monochrome and Color Dithering
Dithering and halftoning techniques are used to render images and graphics with more apparent
colors than are actually displayable.
When our visual systems are confronted with large regions
of high-frequency color changes they tend to blend the individual colors into
uniform color field. Dithering and halftoning attempt to use this property of perception to
represent colors that cannot be directly represented.
