Effect of using the ATLAS linear algebra system to implement linear replacement. Execution speedup using the original matrix multiply is shown in gray (Direct matrix multiply) and the execution speedup using the ATLAS library is shown in black (ATLAS matrix multiply). Note that the relative slowdown when using ATLAS is due to our interface and not to any deficiency in ATLAS itself.
