Welcome

Welcome to Dahua's Academic Wiki.

By this wiki, I would like to explore the fascinating academic realm together with you. In addition to the research on computer vision and statistical learning, this wiki also discusses related issues like image processing, numerical computation, matrix theory, as well as technical topics like programming and software development.

As a research student, it is my hope to contribute my efforts to push the advancement of the fields that I work on. It can't be more exciting to see my works create a difference in the field.

Serving as a window of my exploration in academia, the wiki is open to you. Your participation and contribution are sincerely appreciated, as they are the most important source to make this site thrive.

About myself

I am a student from China and currently at Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) pursuing my Ph.D. degree in computer science. I am now working in the famous Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence Lab (CSAIL),which is formed on the combination of Computer Science Lab and AI Lab in 2003. My research interests mainly lie in computer vision and statistical learning.

My research on computer vision started in 2003 summer, when I partitipated the undergraduate research plan of the University of Science and Technology of China (USTC) and dedicated to the construction of a stereo tracking system. Since then, I have worked in a series of laboratories, including the Information Processing Center (IPC) of USTC, the Visual Computing Group of Microsoft Research Asia (MSRA), and the Multimedia Lab of the Chinese University of Hong Kong.

In addition to academic research, I am also interested in programming in a variety of languages, including C/C++, C#, MATLAB, and Python. I appreciate the beauty inside the core of these languages, and their distinct philosophy in solving problems.
