Peter Szolovits’ Photos

My uncle, Bela in Hungarian, Adalbert in French, was my mother’s oldest surviving brother. He left Hungary in the 1920’s because, as a Jew, he was unable to attend university. Instead, he went to Bologna and then Paris, where he became a doctor, practicing as an eye, ear, nose, throat specialist until he was about 75 years old.  He died in 1998, having reached almost 94 years of age.  We visited him often at his lovely apartment in Paris, on Rue Lafayette about half way from the old Opera to Gare du Nord. This is a set of my photos in which he appears.
