mit ai lab

the computer science lab and "the other lab" merged on july 1, 2003 (this date has some sort of significance having to do with the founding of project mac) to form the mit csail. don't ask me why - rather, read for yourself. if nothing else, it's a good nerdy chunk of computer science history. in related news, we as a lab have at long last moved into our new home, the bizarre stata center (designed by f . gehry) in march 2004.

primarily, i provide academic, administrative and research support for profs. peter szolovits, joel moses and patrick winston and their respective research groups, including all classes they teach in any given semester.

further, i am the research support person for the clinical decision making group led by prof. szolovits, whose mission is to provide better health care through applied artificial intelligence,. this is our group's website, which i publish. i also support the genesis research group, led by prof winston - here is that site.

in addition i organize the somewhat-weekly computational medicine seminars which are held by our research group, and over the last academic year (03-04) happened in conjunction with hewlett-packard's cambridge research lab. the series is ongoing until the end of spring semester, i.e. may 12th.

and finally, i proudly teach yoga here at mit. more info about that slice of my life here.
my professional yoga page is here.

i swear i wasn't part of this hack. but i took it for a test drive, hehe. and i must confess, it felt somewhat disconcerting.
