Potential military applications of MEMS dust include tracking biochemical agents, monitoring atmospheric conditions (primarily pressure and wind velocity) for targeting artillery, and dust "bullets" that disperse large numbers of devices over an area to provide perimeter security and track troop movements (i.e. "What's over the hill?").
