TP-380C POST error 301

Hi and thanks in advance.
  I just recieved a phone call from an associate who is now isolated in
Africa. Her notepad won't boot - thus no E-mail. Here are the symptoms.
On power up she gets:
  KB OK
  1111-301
  Beep, beep  (2 beeps)
  Then an error message box stating that she had an 00301 error
  and then  Error Test. NO restart
  The machine then freezes.

She says that she has an IBM Thinkpad model 380C with 8mb of ram

Any help would be appreciated. I will call her back soon from the United States.
