How to Submit a Proposal

To submit a proposal through CSAIL, you will need to coordinate the submission with your Financial Administrator. Fiscal will help organize the financial and administrative parts of the proposal including routing the proposal for required signatures at MIT and submitting it to the Office of Sponsored Programs (OSP). As every sponsor has different requirements, Fiscal will also guide you through any forms or information you need to provide. At a minimum, you will need to provide a basic budget and statement of work, but most sponsors, particularly federal sponsors, will require much more documentation, normally referenced or outlined in the request for proposal. To allow for enough time to properly complete all sponsor requirements, please contact the fiscal department as soon as you decide to submit a proposal.

All proposals are due to the Office of Sponsored Programs at MIT 5 (five) business days before the proposal is due to the sponsor.

For more information on proposal preparation see MIT's Office Of Sponsored Programs website: http://web.mit.edu/osp/www/pre_prop.htm
