README for the 6837 admin stuff

First Please Note:

1) There are a lot of scripts used to run this course.

2) I would suggest very strongly that you learn perl.

3) There is a cvs repository at /u2/graphics/projects.  Check out
  using "cvs checkout 6837" the 6837 module.  It has all the assigment
  stuff in it along with more kruft than you can imagine.  It really is
  as bad as it seems.

	grading and admin web pages are in here
      gpost/
        This is a question/answer cgi script base.  Look at the script
	itself (6837-graphpost.pl) to get an idea what it does.  Play
	with the forms, and all that too.
      internal/
        This area is locked out of the web server.  It should not be
	browsable via WWW.
(***)       grading/
	      Grading, student's work, and all that is stored in this
	      directory.  See the readme in it for more info.
	    internal.html
	    todo.html
	      These are some html files for staff.
(*) assignments/
	assignments are in here (the things given to the students, not
	the students work).
    c++_notes/
	notes on c++ for _very_ novice programmers.
(*) calendar/
	calendars for the year
(*) cgi-bin/
	a symbolic link to the place where cgi scripts are (used?) to
	be kept.  All 6837 cgi script namess start with 6837-.

    cgibackup/
	A backup copy of all the cgi scripts.  This should always be
	kept in date with the real ones.
    data/
	Users on-line registration files are kept here.
    gifs/
	A bunch of gifs used by web pages.
(*) handouts/
	All the handouts (except assignments) are kept in this
	directory.  A script automatically generates a listing of
	them.
    ivexamples/
	Examples of .iv files

	Directory of lecture notes
    main_6837/
	A link to the previous location of 68367 stuff.  You should
        not need this.
    projects/
	Directory for final projects.
    scripts/
	A list of scripts which use the data directory to do stuff.
    testfiles/
	Test files we used to grade students assignments.  These are
	copies for the students for reference purposes.
    thumbnails/
	Location where thumbnails of all the student images are kept.
    unusedcgi/
	Unused cgi script graveyard.

	instructions for students on how to get a picture of
	themselves on the web using sgi cameras.

	The main homepage.  This is the top level of the html tree.

	The registration form.  This calls the 6837-register.pl script.
