just fyi, since it's good to get this stuff on record, i'm branching all of walkthru to temp-dev-luka-03-0511 right now. gonna use that to test a lot of hacks, including windows elimination and possibly a full OS port generalization. i expect to close and merge the branch again w/i 24-48 hours. --pl
